# 8.1 Event-driven reviews and onboarding review rules

Pascal 8.1 introduces event-driven reviews and configurable onboarding review rules. These additions help you respond to relevant changes in client risk and apply consistent settings when onboarding new clients.

### How It Works

#### 1. Configure event-driven reviews

Create a review rule that responds to one of two events:

- **Client risk change**: the client’s risk changes to one of the risk levels selected in the rule.
- **Included hit category**: a screening hit in one of the selected categories is included on a case linked to the client.

When a matching event occurs, Pascal creates a pending review with a due date and notifies your team. Your team starts the review manually.

#### 2. Follow up alongside your periodic reviews

The review’s due date is set when the pending review is created and remains unchanged when you start it. A review can therefore become overdue before it is started.

Completing an event-driven review leaves the next periodic review date unchanged.

#### 3. Set defaults for onboarding reviews

Configure an onboarding review rule with a default form, the number of days from the review start to its due date, and reminders.

Pascal applies the rule automatically when you select Onboarding while creating a client. You can change the preselected form or continue without one. Changes to the rule do not affect existing reviews.

#### 4. Keep track of your reviews

You can now give reviews a recognisable name, see due dates on active reviews and check past approval results without opening each review. Cancelled reviews show who cancelled them and any comment they left.

### How It’s Beneficial

- **Timely follow-up**: identify clients who need another review when relevant changes occur, alongside your periodic review schedule.
- **Consistent onboarding**: apply default forms, due dates and reminders without configuring them separately for every new client.
- **Clearer oversight**: recognise reviews more easily and check deadlines and previous outcomes from the review overview.
