FAQ Workflow

How can I screen a person, a business or an asset? 

Press the New case button on the Home or Cases page. Select the type of case (Person, Business, or Asset) and enter the name and nationality/country of incorporation. Provide as much additional information as possible to improve accuracy. When you press Create case, Pascal searches its data lake across Sanctions, Enforcements, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), Adverse and Negative Media, and other sources. 

What results will match in a screening? 

Pascal uses advanced matching algorithms to compare your input with data in the lake. Based on your configured Confidence settings, results above the threshold will be displayed. 

How can I turn on monitoring? 

Continuous monitoring can be enabled for all cases. This automatically alerts you to new potential matches. Turn it on individually by opening a case and pressing Start monitoring, or in bulk via the Cases page using the Edit function. Monitoring frequencies are applied per source. 

Will my colleagues and I be alerted when new results are found? 

Yes. Once monitoring is enabled, the assigned user - or all users in the assigned group - will be notified of new results by email and/or in-app alerts, depending on personal notification settings. 

What should I do when results are found? 

Open the case and review the details to determine if the result is a true positive, a false positive, or irrelevant. If needed, gather more information to resolve the finding. Follow your internal policy, which may include escalating, rejecting, flagging, or verifying the customer. Always document your decision. Pascal records all actions and comments in the audit trail. 

How can I assign open tasks to a team or a colleague? 

Assign cases to a user or group. The assigned user, or all users in the group, will be notified and see the case in their workspace. 

How can I escalate a case or refer it for review? 

Escalate a case by assigning it to another user or group. You can also escalate a specific result by using @username to tag a colleague in the case comments. All actions and messages are stored in Pascal’s audit trail. 

Where can I see an overview of outstanding work? 

The Home page shows a quick overview of your pending work. The Statistics section provides more detail. If you are a Team Manager or higher, you can also see outstanding work for the whole team. 

Can I edit case information if something changes? 

Yes. Scroll to the Specifications section of the case and update the information. Pascal will then re-run the search and update results accordingly.
